Will these features be available for ALL X10 variants, including the Mini Pro?
I know that they are capable of handling HD Video record [since the 5 megapixel Vivaz Pro can do it too] and the processor is definitely fast enough.

And how far off into Q4 are we talking?

but why eclair? … froyo is about to be released and under testing… if we have to wait then is better to upgrade to 2.2… this sounds like a mockery…

    however not bad but strange

Will this update include options to change the quality of the pictures taken by the camera app? How come this option is not available in X10? All HTC phones have it already. I am extremely disappointed that 8 megapixel camera that can produce high quality pictures actually saves them with extremely low jpg quality. I am considering returning the phone now since I couldn’t find comparable app to replace the native camera app. If I only knew.. I would have never bought this phone, nexus one might be a better choice!!! What a disappointment!!! Not to mention the lack of attachments (other than pictures) for email.

So Q4 means close to the X10 release? So if SE says an update to 2.2 will be available after some time i think that means 2015…

Very poor SE. 1 Reason I bought the X10 was that SE said “It will be released with 1.6 but 2.1 will be available after a short time.” ~ 1/2 year isn’t short espacially for electronic products…

I hope the R2BXXX update is coming this year… :-(

Why don’t you create a poll for what people would like to see in Q4: 2.1 vs. 2.2?

    Or 2.1 Q4 vs. 2.2 early Q1 2011?

It will create a far greater consumer interest in this blog (the quality of which has died lately) while at the same time presenting a more accurate and accessible assessment of the reality on the ground.

Why not an upgrade to Android 2.2?

    That’s a joke.

We spend a lot of money for a “open source” device, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to set the device as root, or install any Android 2.1, or do nothing.

And, as usual, SE sell us “high tech devices” with “old times” software and posibilities.

I really hope a new upgrade in short, or the community root solution. Or maybe i’ll sell my X10 and get any HTC device.
