Today is Friday and it’s the last day of the 2012 International CES, and it has been an special show for us and I really enjoyed sharing the experience, the announcements and the excitement with you!

During CES, we asked on our Facebook page what would they like to know more about the Xperia S smartphone, so we could make a video about that feature, explaining a little more in depth about it.  People voted, and the feature that our Facebook fans wanted to know more about was the Dual Processor.

So, with a little help of the Developer World guys, Stephen Sneeden, our Product Expert, gave us an overview of the  1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 dual core processor and what it means for the phone and the users.

What feature would you have voted for?

Our colleagues from Sony also did a great crowdsourced video about the multimedia features on the Xperia S that is worth checking out!

Presenting the new Xperia S

The Sony press conference has just finished and Sir Howard Stringer and Kaz Hirai of Sony have shared with us not only the new gadgets Sony is presenting at the 2012 International CES, but also announced the new Xperia™  S, the first  smartphone from the new Xperia™  NXT series- the next generation smartphones from Sony*.

The new Xperia™  S is an Android smartphone that combines an impressive viewing experience through the high resolution 4.3 inch display with Mobile BRAVIA engine, a 12 MP camera that takes pictures in just 1.5 seconds from standby, and an amazing Sony HD experience. Xperia™  S also has a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor for a faster performance. Watching HD clips and movies is really a great experience on this phone. And I can’t wait to try out HD games on it! As we have posted before, with the Gingerbread 2.3.4 update we are rolling out, one of the really cool features that you will have on your Xperia™ phone is the USB host feature, that turns your Xperia™  smartphone into a mini-mobile PC , by connecting USB peripherals, mouse, keyboard or gamepad, to the Sony Ericsson LiveDock™ multimedia station and lets you have a greater experience when you connect your Xperia phone to your screen, through HDMI.

LiveDock™  is compatible with Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ pro, Xperia™ active, Xperia™ mini, Xperia™ mini pro, Xperia™ ray, Xperia™ neo, Xperia™ neo V and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman™ .

Also, for an updated list of the released kits of the update, please find them on the comments section on the blog post we had last Friday.

Earlier today we announced a new update for our 2011 Xperia™ phones. Here is a video made by my colleagues at Developer World demonstrating some of the new features that come with the upgrade.

We have been having a lot of questions regarding the update for our 2011 Xperia™ phones to the new Android 2.3.4 version. And we are happy to tell you that today we announced that the 2.3.4 version of Gingerbread platform for all the 2011 Xperia™ Smartphones will start the roll out during October at select markets.
