Thank you all for the great and positive feedback on the new X10 mini and X10 mini pro. It has been very much at our heart to develop a new consumer-oriented user experience. Both devices share the same philosophy of a smart combination of compactness and cleverness. In other words, we reduce the size of a smart phone as you know it today and revolutionize the user interface in a way that gives consumers the benefit to easily navigate with only one hand. This comes to life with the concept of the 4 corner touch home screen, which allows you to have your favorite apps and shortcuts at the reach of a thumb as well as other apps. Whether you are surfing the web or are flicking through your pictures, you can easily zoom in and out simply by using your thumb. Everything single-handed which makes the devices a dream to use when on the move. Depending on your habits you might actually prefer typing on the QWERTY keyboard with two thumbs on the X10 mini pro. But apart from that, one-hand usage it is just so intuitive.
I noted some of your comments asking for the multi touch support. Having shared our personal experiences using the new UI within our team, we just love it the way it is and think that multi-touch would actually just destroy the simplicity of using these products. To avoid any speculation I can confirm that we do not have any intention to implement multi touch on X10 mini and X10 mini pro.
To be honest I can understand why the mini series don’t need multitouch, but ‘multi-touch would actually just destroy the simplicity of using these products’ doesn’t excuse X10, Satio, Vivaz’s lack of it.

The UI I now have on my Vivaz is a fantastic one hand operation. The current trend of massive tablet screens that require two hands aren’t my cup of tea.
Please please can we have some indication on an update for Vivaz, since I bought it I have seen updates for Satio, Aino, Xperia, and now it’s announced the X10 is getting one, but noting about the Vivaz.

Exactly the attitude am begining to hate about SE, just because you love it doesn’t mean consumers will. U need to listen what your consumers want and try to implement them not just shut them out. I have been a lifelong SE fan, never used a phone if its not SE. But with the recent X1 disaster which I paid £550 for, and another £550 for the X10 which I thought will be different because of Android, am really begining to doubt SE’s ability to deliver a cutting-edge device. X1 was a shame and now X10 hasn’t got the cometitive edge needed, its just dissappointing.

i just hope that all the animations will also be in the x10! right now the x10 is so laggy compared to the mini or other phones. maybe the mini is not laggy becuase of the smaller display resolution but hey the x10 is your big product not the mini’s. right now im not confident with the performance of my x10.

In what way would dualtouch mess up the experience? it´s not like you HAVE to press 2 buttons at the same time, but some games and fast typers may REQUIRE it. To not have this on the x10 is a sind and BIG let down for your customers. Releasing 2.1 in q4 2001 is another one up there with no MT. Your customers are asking for the same things other providers can give them, why not SE? Why be ignorant of your market?
The x10 mini and pro are really good ideas but they should be out and with android 2.1 by now. The update should be to 2.2 in q4.

Guys, if i switch off TimeScape and assuming I never use it, will I still experience the lag? If I turn off TimeScape or never use it will I see the full power of the 1GHz snapdragon?
Thanks

Yes! One handed operation is _key_ for a mobile phone. I always hated how I needed two hands to operate Windows Mobile. One should be able to drive fast and still concentrate on the driving while doing something on the phone.
Size is another big plus. I’m tired of lugging around big phones and PDA’s since the Compaq iPAQ days. It should fit nicely in a shirt pocket without weighing down too much. This might be a little bit too fat but it’s the right direction.
To each their own…

Finally, a phone without pinch to zoom! This is much better from usability perspective.

i just so confused that you refered to “consumer-oriented user experience” above, then why you kill the multi-touch though so many guys expect it. are there some problems with the patents or something? consumers don’t wanna listen to the speech that you company guys think the multi-touch is not usefull. or you can’t take the hat of consumer orientation.
you have to kown that the picture browsing in x10 sucks, especially the picture transition. i really hope to see the improvement in the next upgrade.

@UE
I totally agree, for one handed operation you are better off with double tab or zoom buttons.

It’s just amazing! Well done SE, I’m also a big fan and I support what your doing. I mean since you are providing us with a good alternative I have no problems at all. I would only be angry if you didn’t have any alternative for MT. But I understand you are always trying to be creative and it’s a good thing. But it’s true you also need to listen to you customers between time to time to make them happy and satisfied. Stop being so stubbron
And please moderators, recruit my posts, i’ve posted some rumours about X10 getting 2.0 next month and SE 16.1 mega pixel phone.

Didnt wanna reply first, but then saw this next line:
“Having shared our personal experiences using the new UI within our team, we just love it the way it is and think that multi-touch would actually just destroy the simplicity of using these products.”
I’m sorry but thats total bullshit. I cant believe SE would say that into our (the customers/fans) faces. Totally disrespectful. Basically you’re saying that we are idiots that will blindly believe everything you say.
How can multi-touch ever be something bad???? You really believe it would destroy the phone…… unbelievable. Ok maybe it wont work as good as it should but it would still be good, even if its only used for zooming and games……
Multitouch should be in every touchscreen phone.
Look, I would have totally understood that you guys wouldnt have added multitouch because the X10 doesnt have it and because the X10 pro hardware doesnt support it and X10 mini wont get it either. Thats a good reason.
But please dont come with a crappy stories saying multitouch would destroy the phone….
My next phone is probably going to be the X10 mini cause I really love it. Small, perfect. Still thinking about it. Hope the price wont be to high.

I like the idea of one handed operatoion… However what about the situation when it comes to GAMES which need more then one entry on the screen to work… This is the way things are moving… so therefore I can not get a game which will feature this feature so the phone would be useless to me… So could you explain your reason for this…?
