I want spotify integrated on my phone. How can I get it?

When we work together with operators we often together add or tweak functionality specific to that operator, its partners or a specific consumer target group. In the XPERIA X10 we have in some markets made special integrations of this kind into Timescape and Mediascape. In the example that Gustaf describes in the video below you see a cooperation made with the operator Telia in Sweden. The service integrated is the Spotify music streaming service (www.spotify.com) which is a great success here in Sweden. The integration makes Spotify appear as an online music service in Mediascape and songs played through Spotify shows up as event tiles in Timescape. There are of course other things made on other markets so this is just one example.
If the sky was the limit – what would you ideally have integrated?

Now if you were to make that spotify plugin available to all X10 users I think many people would be very happy indeed

Yeah, just make all the things you’ve created as a plugin for the Timescape and Mediascape and everybody will be happy. Because I think there are also people that are travelling around and have about everything or people that just want to have/test everything

Thats really nice, but are you saying that I will have that function activated on my phone if I get spotify premium on my telia X10? My phone is not branded to telia but I do use them as my operator.

The only modification that I personally would like to see is not to the timescape or mediascape apps but instead a different function.
In the Sony Ericsson W595, when editing the contact details for a person, there’s an option to edit their date of birth field too. Once you save this it prompts to set a reminder for their birthday. I was somewhat shocked to discover that you cannot add a date of birth on the X10 as it is not a field that is exposed! I don’t know about everyone else but for me keeping in contact with people is not just a matter of seeing what they are posting on facebook/twitter but also remembering things like birthdays and anniversaries. I use my phone for business and personal use and it’s something that I miss desperately. So, how about letting the developers know and maybe they can do something about this?
Many thanks

@Andrew – if your contacts are synced with Google you can edit add a birthday via gmail contacts on the web. This will then be added your google calendar and synced to your phone. Would be nicer if it was avilable directly via the phone contacts though.

@Malcolm Yep, that’s the workaround I have in place. However, when out of Ireland on business (to the UK/States) it’s prohibitively expensive to have data roaming on. As such, new details can’t be entered this way!

Wondering, do you need to be a premium Spotify member to have that integration? And can you integrate other popular services like Pandora.
Personally I would like to see an option to remote access your PS3 and Media Go content from within Timescape.

Would be great if there’s a way to view the new events in their proper form, instead of launching Timescape, and then getting the extra buttons (like spotify button in video, or the infinity key) straight from home screen.
The extra step seems unnecessary, when its so much quicker to grab it from the android notification drawers….
@if sky is the limit…
Integration with facebook notifications. Not just other people’s status updates!

[...] Not much more info is given on what other types of services will see integration into Mediascape and Timescape, but you can find more info over at the Sony Ericsson product blog. [...]

Thanks for the feedback and ideas on further integration!
To clarify some of your questions:
Yes you need a Spotify premium account for Spotify to work in mobile devices. Krister and Daki – it needs to be the “Telia-branded” version of the XPERIA X10.

Rikard can you comment on the X10 battery issues many people have been having? SE are aware of the problem yes? The WiFi bug too?
