Uploading videos to Youtube directly from the phone may not sound like the most revolutionary thing for a hardcore mobile techie. But for the more average mobile phone user, I actually think this possibility may be seen as very cool and also very useful. With the video quality of mobile phones increasing (this video is for example shoot with my Vivaz in HD :-) ) and peoples growing desire to constantly share with their friends their status and what they are doing right now, I believe a lot more people would use this functionally if they knew how easy it is. Below is a short video of me uploading a full quality video to Youtube from my Xperia X10 with just a few “klicks” (could you refer to “klicks” on a touch screen… ?).

To get started, the only thing you have to do is to register an account with Youtube. This can also be done directly from the phone itself. Then it runs increadibly smoothly.

Enjoy!

BTW – we just realized that Rikard’s previous post was the 100th post on this blog since we started 7 September last year – we will celebrate that with some apple cake after lunch today :-)

    First of all CONGRATULATIONS! Cheers!

    And now this X10 packs a lot of baskets of media feature, my only question is if Sony Ericsson will make an own integration of their DivX/Xvid video codecs on X10 in the future? I really hate converting videos just because the phone can’t support these media formats. But anyways, X10 offers a bigger screen and I hope this will give more fun on video playbacks.

    Congratulations on the 100th post!

    I was kinda curious about what the video upload features will be like on the X10 and I must say that this looks really nice!

    Congrats! Send some cake this way :P

    And can someone do something about the spamfilter? It kills 80% of my posts and when I’m finally able to post again its not needed anymore cause subject is changed or theres a new blog post. And I dont feel like rewriting the entire thing again.
    Its the main cause of me not posting much.

    Thats plain and simple! Seems it would eliminate the use of uploading files to computer then doing the same stuff for many users out there. Quite easy and enhances the user experience as well. :)
    It would be nice to see someone adding Youtube in Timescape as well.
    P.S.
    @ Gustaf
    Is that all, you have on your lunch? :P

    Here is a short criticism of a X10 Test Pilot ( Perhaps! )
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJpZqOTKUNM
    P.S.
    - He somehow, made the X10 on his video look not as sexy as it is. :|
    - Just When he was claiming, X10 is not as fast as he expected it to be ( Considering the Snapdragon and other hefty specs ), the menu sprang out lightning fast. :lol:
    - He also thinks there is no use of Timescape and Mediascape, so he removed it completely from his HomeScreen. :P

    Lets see if this post gets through from my uni, cause else its maybe an ip-address problem.

    @kalle
    specifically what videos are you talking about? :D

    @junaid
    I bet on this one, X10 will be a better phone in terms of Geo Tagging, coz it has a better hardware though.

    Thanks for sharing, just wish that you would have filmed something more interesting and also shared a link to the you tube-movie in the blog as well.

    But again… thanks :)
