Of course the HD-video recording capabilities of Vivaz really wanted me to start testing it and now it’s time to start showing some of the videos me and my colleagues have shot so far.
As always I’d like to point out that all these are shot with prototype versions of Vivaz with pre-release SW so there might also be further fine-tuning and improvements done before launch. To watch the videos in best quality click the “Watch on Youtube” link and make sure to choose 720p as viewing resolution!
Those who know me wouldn’t have a hard time guessing what kind of videos I’ve shot, of course Stella is in them
For this first post with samples I’ve chosen a video interview I made with her after a terrifyingly speedy race in the Stockholm snow. My video is also uploaded directly from my Vivaz over wi-fi. The second and third videos are shot by Daniel, one outside our office in Lund and the other one at a rock concert he enjoyed a few days ago. The grand finale is a clip from our israelian colleagues who, just as they did with Satio, have mounted a Vivaz to an RC-plane and shot some great landscape scenes. I don’t think this is in HD on YouTube though but it’s still a very cool clip
I’ll shoot more videos to share soon and already know a bit of what you’d like me to test but please feel free to remind me in the comments section as to what kind of set up you’d like to see!

Quality looks pretty good!
Oh and cute kid haha

Impressive quality. Looks great. Quite some punch in such a thin phone. This baby is gonna sell!
Great job Se.
AS always, Stella is super cute.
)
Obviously it has a fair advantage, but still..
Well, for the Videos, it’s pretty nice! I would still like to see a bit of more moving camera while shooting. Mattias did a great job shooting the view outside his office. ( your office is at such a nice place.
And the last video, put Vivaz to it’s extreme conditions. Even while being on a RC plane, it some how looks smooth to me. The colors are really balanced in almost all of the videos. It has constant autofocus, right? Quite un-noticeable in all of the videos. ( Rik, if you can add to the To-Do list! )
Now the comparison part, i think it somehow doesn’t look too superior than Satio, to me. Like for the Rock video, we had similar video from the Satio too, and i think both adapted to to the environment blissfully. And also how Vivaz kept sound quite distinguishable from noise.
Perhaps, Youtube is ripping some credits.
Manish,
I’ll let her know!
& Valinor, Thanks
That’s on my list, also the other way around, i.e. Vivaz on tripod with static scene but with moving objects.
Yes it does have continous autofocus while shooting. I’ll try to do some setup around that for next round of sample videos!
I guess YouTube does alter the quality a small bit but for these videos I need to check if there’s a way to put up the original files somewhere. The files really become big in HD-mode. The short interview with Stella is around 20MB and I just tested shooting a 2 minute clip (to see if I should start using Vivaz instead of my camcorder for shooting tutorials from now on) and it was around 110 MB
hope you could upload it for full quality view..
I have omnia HD AND Satio.. (yup.. both of best worlds) and I would want to see how high is the bitrate of the vivaz recording…
I noticed that this time the vivaz records quality pretty good (the volume level I mean) because in Satio the microphone is in the same place as the lanyard ayelet and it location makes it record in a low volume…
It looks like it was fixed in vivaz…
by the way.. quality is pretty good but Im looking forward to see full quality as the youtube ALWAYS decrease both pixel count and fps…
the video of the plane is great, I really like the concept. I hope to see the macro mode and zoom video. Sttella as always pretty, but the video needs subtitles because I do not know anything about Swedish,
except OK. I think as a consumer, VIVAZ is a very good option, I believe this may exceed Satio phone sales. I’m in expectation to see “what Sony Ericsson has for Congress”
kanna
@ NOC, Piotr, Valinor: I would really like some of you participate in the congress, You can try
