SWF to Jar using Project Capuchin and swf2jar Tool

By Erik Starck | Published: July 1st, 2009

SWF to Jar conversion for Flash Lite™ files is probably the easiest way to use the power of Project Capuchin. Simply download the Swf2Jar (Windows version, Mac version) tool and install it.
You will be greeted by a screen telling you to load a SWF-file. It looks like this:

Enter the path to the file, the name of the application and your name as a developer and click “Create”. You’re done! You now have a midlet in the form of a -jad and jar-file that can be installed on any Project Capuchin capable phone as an ordinary Java application. Now, submit it to our application store and start making money.

As always, you can use the Phone Gallery to see which phones have Project Capuchin. Simply click the JSRs & APIs link and select Project Capuchin.

What is Project Capuchin? Capuchin merges Flash Lite™ with Java ME. The simplest way of using it is to embed a Flash Lite™ application in a Java ME midlet as described above, but you can do much more than that.
